OpenCPN on Android vs Navionics boating app?

I am looking for charts for the Med, and undecided between Navionics' Med & Black sea chartset (boating app) and the indivudual French-Spanish-Italian-Croatian o-charts.

Navionics seems to be the easier solution, since it covers the whole area (in the o-chart set there is nothing for Greece, Turkey and the N-African coast).

I am using o-charts for UK/Ireland, but have to say not very satisfied: the well known wreck of the Hoveringham II sunk half a century ago in the Menai strait was missing from the o-chart set, while both my paper charts and the online chart from Navionics has it.

Re: OpenCPN on Android vs Navionics boating app?

We ran Navionics in the Med from Gibraltar to Turkey and back over a couple years and were very pleased. There was an omitted submerged large rock (7 meter diameter) just above Delos in Greece, but otherwise very accurate in our experience. We also had a vector CMAP set that was ok. For paper I found Imray the best.

Navionics is effective for Turkish coasts. (Greece too) I m using Mediterranean and Black Sea... Sure it is not official ecdis system and you can't trust completely. Click image for larger version
