San Diego to New Zealand

To New Zealand or Australian citizens in the USA: We are planning on sailing from San Diego to New Zealand, leaving SD around May 25th. We may have to go nonstop if Pacific Islands remain closed. We are looking for one crew who is a NZ or Australian citizen in order to avoid the possibility of other nationalities getting stuck in New Zealand due to the current Coronavirus situation. Please contact me for details.

Re: San Diego to New Zealand

Make sure you carefully check the regs, New Zealand is currently only allowing returning residents to enter New Zealand. "No other foreign traveller can enter New Zealand" Emphasis is theirs.

See
https://covid19.govt.nz/government-actions/travel/

it, of course, can change by your departure date but as you noted there are currently no places to stop in the south pacific.

Eric
Currently NZ (they didn't toss us out...)

Thank you for your response Eric. My husband is a NZ citizen so we qualify for entry. At least so far. We are checking with Immigration NZ and following up developments. Lets see what happens. Banu

When are you going to leave? How long do you think that passage will take? How many on board?

Re: San Diego to New Zealand

Hello Mike...
Two on board. Me and my husband, a KIWI boatbuilder. We sailed to San Diego via the Great Lakes from Turkey (boat came on a truck from Duluth Minnesota to Seattle!).

Planning on leaving around May 25.

The trip should take us around 2 moths + .
