Salt- vs fresh-water - maintenance difference

I am currently paying +-$7000 every two years to have my boat hauled out and have the bottom repainted (Beneteau 46). If I were to move my moorage to fresh water instead of salty and very tidal Puget Sound, should I expect a significant reduction in the need to do this maintenance?
