pirate Re: Thoughts on Hunter Cherubini 33 and 36

Welcome to CF Hunter33..
Cherubini designed a sweet sailboat.. my only dislikes were the sad plastic portlights Hunter fitted.. I had an H37c.. sailed on a breath.

Re: Thoughts on Hunter Cherubini 33 and 36

Do the research. Difference, design. Cherubini designed a great sailboat and the hunters the designed are no exceptions. If I were in the hunt a hunter 37c would be in the mix. For the price you can get a good deal as it has "hunter" which most consider a regular ole production boat. But hey a Catalina 27 has circumnavigated.

Find a well maintained hunter 33 or 37c and you will be happy in my opinion. But look elsewhere too!

Hopefully someone told Texasliam this a while ago, as he hasn't posted in almost 7 years. Welcome to cruisers forum, I'm one of the resident smart asses. ;^)

Sorry, don't know how many were built. From all I've heard they are a good sturdy boat. The raider 33 is a lot like the hunter 33, being both designed by Cherubini.

Links to both from there. Interestingly the number of raiders built are listed but not the hunters.

No. Cherubini agreed to design boats for Hunter only if they followed his build specifications precisely. As a result, the construction quality of the Cherubini Hunters is as good as you're going to get in any production boat.

Used to have a 37 Cutter. Structurally a solid boat, but some details, like plastic port holes, are not up to the same standards.
