Looking for Dinghy Davits for Jeanneau 42 DS

Hi all,

I just bought a 07 Jeanneau 42 DS and thinking about adding davits for the Zodiac RIB Cadet 330 - 10.5 ft length. It also has a 20 HP Suzuki outboard. Any suggestions on manufacturer or best design of davit. The Zodiac and outboard are a bit more than I wanted, but they came with the boat. I'm also concerned about how to hang the 20 HP outboard.

That engine weighs 44kgs, that's alot and I would be concerned too. Can it go on the yacht transom instead whilst at sea?

I'm not sure on fitting it on transom. Doesn't look like it, but I've seen pictures of other Jeanneau 42s with it hung on the stern pulpit.

Look at the Davits from 'RAN Sailing' - Johann has choosen a system that swings the Dinghy towards the stern instead of winding it up vertically with pullies...

they carry about 300kg,

cheers

Where are you? We had a lot of SS fab work done in La Paz, BCS Mexico. The craftsmen (and indeed they are) there and in many Mexican ports, can certainly do the design, fabrication and installation for a small fraction of the price of US work.

We had several jobs done down south that would have cost 3 to 5 K$ in the US, none were over 1K$ and all were beautifully done. And no, there have no corrosion, weld or material complaints in many years.
