Is that an entirely different pump or just a head change?

Just a simple pump head change out. The foot print is exactly the same, just a 30psi higher capacity pump producing about another 2gph from an older Catalina.

Re: SPECTRA Catalina feed pump

Spectra has identified the pump head... Now I have to see if the importer I use in Grenada can get me a quote and ETA.
According the Spectra tech support my head unit is:

PL-PMP-100MAG ROTARY VANE PMP 100 GPM MAG (C100)

Re: SPECTRA Catalina feed pump

I've also asked the importer to get me quotes on the larger motor. If the cost for a head unit vs a new more powerful motor is not that much then I'll upgrade.

Re: SPECTRA Catalina feed pump

Ug, it's not a larger motor but a larger pressure producing PUMP head. It is the exact same foot print and price as your old one. All the new Catalina 340's use the same motor as yours coupled to the 140psi PUMP head. Some times experience outweighs titles.

Will the 140PSI work better for a Cape Horn Extreme too?

I currently have these pumps (didn't know there is a 140PSI version):

SHURflo Diaphragm Pump Spectra 125 PSI 8008-943-839

Unfortunately no it will not. The Catalina has a single Lesson motor where the Cape Horn Extreme uses two smaller and entirely different Shurflo pumps.
