Elan Impression vs Beneteau, Jeanneau, Bavaria etc

I'm wondering how the Elan Impression compares (quality, comfort, performance and blue water capability) to the other production boats? I'm particularly interested in the 434, 444 and 450 Elan models. I have the impression (pardon the pun) that they compare favourably and are good value. I'm looking for a Med based liveaboard with possible blue water ambitions further down the track. Thanks.

Well you've had more luck with your thread so I will happily follow it. It does sound like we are doing something similar except in my case I intend to sail all the way to Australia - across the little pond and then across the big one[emoji41]. All the Elans I've seen seem to be ex-charter which is a bit surprising if they are better quality than Beneteau etc. I don't necessarily have anything against ex-charter if the price is low enough. If money wasn't an issue I'd probably buy a catamaran.
