Liveaboard in Greece post Brexit

Without getting into any politics about Brexit - and therefore moving on from that, we are heading to Greece to take up residency prior to 31/12/2020. We are looking for people who are doing the same, or have already done it, with a view to getting as much information as possible as to the hows and whys- the right way and the wrong way to do things. We are on a yacht and plan on spending as much time as possible (if not all the time) off grid in anchorages. So we are after information about the best places in Greece to winter up, but also the bureaucratic processes with registration and keeping out of trouble on that front. We are on various FB sites, but the info is sparse about liveaboards.
Cheers

Join the Cruising Association for information on residency and registering the boat, pump out regulations, etc.

The advice you get from people there on the ground will be invaluable for the first couple of years.

Hi
Myself and my wife are doing exactly the same. We flew out in August to get residency visas.
Reports on how difficult it is to get one were all over the web. We got very lucky, A yacht broker gave us a contact. It couldn’t have been easier (and cheap)
She also does all the boat paperwork.
Email if you want the details.

Hi Mick, We actually got ourselves to Lefkas, Greece and managed quite easily to get the residency permit. So it all went well. The hurricane wasn't fun and I have been told the weather recently has been unusual, but overall we are having the time of our lives. Tranqille Bay just off Nidri is awesome.

Great news. We got our visa in Nidri, Helen Morgan by any chance?

So are you there now?

Re: Liveaboard in Greece post Brexit

My friends boat got destroyed in Cephalonia. This stuff hits that area on a pretty regular basis. So clearly this coast is not where you want to be in the fall.

My other friends have been warned by their UK lawyer that January 2021 a new set of legislation will be voted in the Greek Parliament. Unlikely to limit your stay but very likely to introduce a new tax on non-EU owned boats, cars and homes.
