It’s time to start planning to go back to the islands.

This time we’d like to explore an “owners time charter” in the BVI ... dealing directly with the owner where the owner “sells” us two weeks of their “owners time”.

Who’s done this before? How do we connect with the owner? What’s the best online website to make this happen?

The problem right now is that the BVI are basically closed to Americans. If you go there you have to isolate yourself in a hotel room for two weeks before you can go anywhere or do anything. That includes getting onto a boat and sailing off, even if you will be entirely alone on the boat. This makes charters essentially impossible.

God willing, that will change soon, but God only knows when "soon" will be. Once things open up, and I hope that will be soon, charters will be more reasonable. Of course, if you are prescient enough to know exactly when things will open up, and schedule a charter at exactly that time, then you will make out like a bandit. But if you miss it by even just a few days, you may lose out big-time.

Now is not the time. Most of the Caribbean is shut down and will remain so. When the second wave comes through most of the developed world they will tighten up even more.

Now on to the proposal. No I would not do this. To many variables.
