Re: Belize customs

Do you mean arriving as a transient vessel or for permanent importation?

Foonote: Nothing in Belize is consistent. Fees may vary from one port of entry to the next, from one official to the next, and from one quantum of time to the next, but there are those of us here who can give you a general idea of what to expect.

Re: Belize customs

I have been reading that about Belize. Do you know what the fee would be for a 25' sailboat to clear customs in Belize?

Re: Belize customs

There are no Customs fees charged on a vessel in transit or the equipment aboard that vessel. Customs may ding you for a small fee for clearing in/out, normally < BZ$50.

Noonsite gives a good summary of the usual procedures and fees. Link:

https://www.noonsite.com/place/belize/

See "Fees" section on the page above for details.

Triumphant (a member here) has also been tracking fees in Belize for a few years. I cant find a copy if his data right now, so hopefully he will chime in a re-post.

To avoid overtime fees, do not clear in/out on a weekend or a holiday...the officials are there anyway, but they will ding you for an overtime fee just because they can.

Note: all the above descriptions and costs are just a general guide. Fees and procedures in Belize vary quite a lot.

Fees are not based on vessel length for recreational vessels.
