Gemini Centerboard

4 months ago I purchased a 1995 Gemini 3400 model. It was missing a centerboard which I was aware at the time of the purchase. I contacted Chesapeake Light Craft company and they sell centerboards for Gemini 105Mc models, but was not sure they would fit on a 3400 model. Can anyone help me out with the following 3 questions. 1) Do you know where I can buy a centerboard for a 3400 Model? 2) Do you know if the 105MC model & the 3400 model use the same centerboard? 3) Do you know of a fabricator that can built centerboards from scratch?

Re: Gemini Centerboard

build your own and save a lot of money:
1. Cut the shape out of marine plywood
2. Fiber glass the marine plywood (multi layers)
3. Make fair with fairing compound and sand smooth.
4. Roll on gel coat
5. finished

Re: Gemini Centerboard

I'm assuming you have replaced a Gemini centerboard in the past. The YouTube video I watched indicated it is a very confined area to work in and not an easy task. Any suggestions on the installation?

Re: Gemini Centerboard

If you can't find the info you need, you can always use the one you have as a template (I am assuming the Gemini has two boards). I would recommend you use western red cedar and epoxy and glass over this. This produces strong and moisture resistant boards.

Building a board is a nice process and not at all drudgery. If you have a practical bent it can be a fun activity.
