New Lagoon 460

Hi,
I have heard that Lagoon are replacing the 450 with a new 460 with the plans and drawings to be unveiled at next months cannes boat show.
Has anyone heard anything of this as I can't find anything on it.

Re: New Lagoon 460

Following their recent trend it would likely be a two digit identifier and would bridge the gap between the L42 & L50. L46 does seem the natural mid point, but who knows how marketing will name her to compete. She will be aimed at the new Dufour 48 for one and may want a closer number.

Either way, mast aft, rear transom seat, lower aft deck height, foot longer salon...what else?

(I love speculating). Definitely not looking forward to my L450F being a ‘last generation’ model when it comes time to sell though...

According to latest trends regarding model identification....they will charge buyers for a 46 footer while actual length can be 44ft!

Re: New Lagoon 460

What has happened to the resale price of superseded Lagoon models in the past? i.e. what this will do the 450 second-hand market? I'm guessing that it won't make a huge difference, may depend on how well received the new 460 is and its price point.

Re: New Lagoon 460

I have original pictures of Hull #1 but I will not share it here.
The renders on the facebook page are similar.
Its the same look like all the new models. Mast stepped back. more windows ,
one floor Level , etc
The interior for sure looks fantastic

The new name is 46

The launch will not be in Cannes

Someone will like it others will stay with the 450 ....

We like how the 450 sails . And we like the storage space , lockers etc.

Re: New Lagoon 460

more reaching performance on expense of windward performance.

But then... reaching ability matters more as it appears more often because one chooses weather windows and forecasts are better.

looks good !

Re: New Lagoon 460

I love going upwind with our 450 .
Yesterday 7 to 8 knots of true wind 6.2 to 6.5 knots of speed

AWA 37 degrees

Who is saying catamarans are not sailing upwind very well ?

And what I learned over the past years . 70 percent I have the wind on the nose

so I am very happy with the 450

thats pretty good. Presume with code 0 ?

I can do similar VMG with white sails but much closer to wind.

Re: New Lagoon 460

Nope : regular Genoa

The Code 0 is working not under 48to 50 degrees
we can do 32 degrees with the Genoa but then we loose speed

i have new sails that is maybe why 31-32 deg are tolerated better.

But that speed at 37 deg, that is something ! Any particular trimming approaches? is boat empty ?

Actually that's not very good, only 2.42 knots VMG (using 37AWA, 7.5TWS, 6.35 bpsd).
Going 32AWA at a realistic 5 knots bspd in the same 7.5TWS would give you 3.03 knots VMG, much better ! see VMG to Wind calculator at L-36.com
