Wintering in Turkey

Two questions:
Sailing in Turkey late October, good or bad idea?
Where would you suggest hauling a boat out in Turkey for the winter. Nice port with safe yard storage and ability to get light work done on the boat?

Re: Wintering in Turkey

Hi. No problems seas are pretty tame. Tend to get pretty strong winds further offshore and normally from about 11 am to 5 pm. Fineke is a fantastic town with an excellent marina and good pricing. Good shelter from the worst of weather and winter temperatures are mild at least in comparison to Nz. Numerous areas of interest in close sailing proximaty and also inland with transport being cheap.
