Texas Shipyards that Allow Owner Work

Does anyone know of any shipyards in the Texas (primarily Galveston/Houston) coastal areas that allow boat owners to do their own boat repairs (Glass, Sanding, Paint).

Every yard I have contacted in the area I purchased a boat recently does not allow for any Sanding work. I am sure this is their way of protecting their income sources knowing that sanding is a common and critical thing on GRP hull vessels.

Any help and or directions on where there might be a yard, resonably priced would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Well..........if all your neighbors in the marina really like you and your dog is amazingly adorable you would be surprised what you can get away with in Texas by just not asking permission.

You gotta just feel that out though....

The only one I know of is House of Boats in Rockport. And I'm not sure that they still do. Hooking Bull, also in Rockport, might.
