Texas 200 crew

Seeking Crew for Texas 200
June 10 - 17
I've sailed it 5 times over the last 12 years in my little boat a west wight potter.
This year Ill sail it in a Nimble Artic 26
Its a week sailing and camping along the Texas Coast.
If the winds are fair its a rollicking sail on flat water for 5 to six hours, then camping, fishing and chatting for 4-5 days.

Looking for crew who can make it to Austin Texas for shake down cruises in April and May

Re: Texas 200 crew

I have not participated in the Texas 200, but have followed the Facebook page. It appears you left out the parts about hot humid afternoons with highs over 90, and a good chance of thunderstorms.

Hey that's what sailing in Texas is all about.

Actually the event happens in June, because its still pretty cool (under 100), the winds are usually fairly strong (may be blowing the wrong way), and there haven't been that many hurricanes this early in the season.

I have sailed every other Texas 200 since 2007. Bad weather hasn't been much of a problem for me.

Thanks for reading and commenting. I have a full crew this year. Next year maybe.

Re: Texas 200 crew

One crew member bought his own boat, and dropped out.

Another one may be climbing mountains.

I have room for one or two more, leaving June 10

Re: Texas 200 crew

Do you need an experienced crew? I live in Cedar Park near Austin and thinking about changing my Bayliner. Nonetheless, I must first have the opportunity to sail in the coastal waters. I can cook and contribute!
