Morgan 41

Looking for information on a Morgan 41 1974. The pics look good but am getting specs. Looks refurbished but basic with a roller furling boom. Does anyone have any sailing experience on the boat?

Re: Morgan 41

Possibly more Morgan OI41s built than any other boat so you'll get a LOT of replies.

I have more experience in the OI36 but very similar design and sailing characteristics.

Short answer, they sail pretty well off the wind but do not point well. The very shoal draft keel just doesn't contribute much to the upwind performance. Off the wind it's a pretty fast boat, especially for that age.

On the other hand, the shoal draft will let you go where a lot of boats can't. And the OI41 is onte of the roomiest boats you will ever see in that length unless you go for a cat.

Re: Morgan 41

is it an out island or just a 41 morgan ? there is a difference mine also has the furling boom, butg its real slow to crank and i never use it my sail came with the dutchman lazy jacks, wich took me forever to figure out lol mine is only 11.5 wide with 4ft draft, almost 9ft with board down
