Attaching a Linear Drive autopilot in a Hunter Legend

I'm seeing if anyone has pics or advice on installing a linear drive unit in a Hunter Legend 37 or 35 or 40. I'm sure someone has done it. Looking to see where they attached the linear base as well as how they attached to the quadrant. Any advice would be helpful. The current helm drive (Raymarine EV100 doesn't do a good job. Thnx... No wonder, boats of these sizes are well outside the EVO100 performance pocket. So a good decision to install an underdeck AP. The difference in use is quite spectaculair I experienced.

Re: Attaching a Linear Drive autopilot in a Hunter Legend

I have a Raymarine linear drive type 1 on a hunter legend 40, 1988. I just replaced the drive and had the old one rebuilt.

The photos show the bronze arm that came from Edson that attaches to the rudder post. Also you can see how the rudder position indicator is mounted on a wooden stand in the port locker. I do not have a picture of the mount for the other end of the linear drive but it is on a aluminum stand very similar to the wooden one that holds the rudder indicator.

Hope that helps. We have been happy with the arranged for the many years we have been sailing her.
