Management of Lifepo4
is the hard part with cell balancing. If you can wire a bms, you can find some good deals but does come with substantial learning
curve. When you pay someone $1000 for a battery, you are paying them to do all the bms work
Now add solar
and things can get pretty complicated. I am installing 6 solar panels
using 3 solar mppt
controllers at 24 volts going to 7kw of Lifepo4
or 290 amphr. 24 volt invertor, 30 amp 24 volt charger
, shunts, breakers, 4/0 wire, cell meters, 2 bms, power cutoffs, solar wire, solar connectors, plus 20 other different items. You name it, I have it. But all for about $2700. You must learn how to solder and heat shrink as well as crimp large fittings on huge wire.
BTW, I purchased my 7kwatt batteries
for less than $900. Each battery is 3.5kw at 24 volts.
