trailering an A frame Searunner 31

Hello everyone....

I'm trying to find out what the width of a 31 A frame Searunner would be if demounted and stacked on a boat hauler's trailer
....that is ......could the boat fit within a 8'6" wide by 12' height....so I would only have to pay for a standard rate per mile...
Has anyone shipped a demounted A frame 31 Searunner recently....?

I took a Marples 35 1600 miles and a Crowther 35, 3000 miles, i had no problems and over 8'6" is only a wide load sign. The Marples was 9'2" and i ran without a sign.

If you are towing yourself and are over by 6-8", you have a good shot at sneaking by without a permit.

If you are paying a trucking company, expect to pay for the permits as they aren't likely to risk the ticket...and a company that is willing to cut corners, I would be nervous what other corners are they cutting.

Re: trailering an A frame Searunner 31

If anyone wants to know..
I emailed John Marples...the guy that worked with John Brown back in the day.......
Anyway he's at marplesmarine@gmail.com
He says it has been done and costs about $5k.
I researched this quite a bit and there are a lot more boats Coming from the West than Going to the West.
I found a really good shipper...a down to earth honest guy ...
Sonny at 651-426-0077. He owns a boat shipping company ...cant remember the website....Call him and talk to him for good info.
I was going to ship a Searunner 31 from Rio Vista to Galveston....
Change my mind on boats....not going to do that now.
I have no affiliation with Sonny and have only talked to him over the phone but he was friendly, down home and direct...seemed to be good people...if you know what i mean...
I live in Lousiana....email me for any questions....
