pirate Couple wants to join a crossing in the South Seas (Fiji, Cook Islands, ...)

Hi there!

me, Tobias, 35 from Germany and Stef, 30 from Austria will be in the South Seas from mid July 19 until beginning of October.

We'd like to do some sailing and it doesn't really matter from where to where. Ideal would be a crossing from Fiji to the Cook Islands End of July/Start of August, but really, we want to do it for the experience, so anything is possible.

We don't have an official sailing license, but we know our way around. Tobias once did an Atlantic Crossing, with 21 days without land.

We'd be so happy if we could join you on your boat. We're nice, sporty, like to surf, oh and we are good cooks :-).

Simply write us an email or answer here! Thanks!

Tobias & Stef

Tobias, the trip from Fiji to the Cooks is all upwind, it is unlikely that you'll get a ride going that way.

Hi Ann, well :-) Thanks for letting us know.

Jason, thanks for the offer. It’s a bit late for us and a bit off route. I think we are not gonna make it.

I may be interested.. can you tell me the length of the trip? What is your typical day to day? Would the crew be responsible for any expenses?

Sorry, you are a year too soon. But if you hang around I'll get there eventually.

Hi Tobias,

i think you said earlier that Australia is a bit too far away for you otherwise you could join me from Melbourne up the coast to the Great Barrier Reef and explore that part of the world for 2021 or until the vaccines finally start to work.

Good luck finding a boat somewhere in your area but dont give up , i still sail but always have to look what our stupid State Governments are doing so i dont get stuck in Quarantine somewhere.

Re: Couple wants to join a crossing in the South Seas (Fiji, Cook Islands, ...)

Hi! Thanks for your quick reply...

Last year we wanted to travel to French Polynesia across the Pacific Ocean (which we did, but with planes instead of a sailing boat), that's why Australia was a bit off track. This time we don't really have any plans, we're enjoying Indonesia while everything at home is locked down. Melbourne is a quick flight from Bali, so totally worth a thought ✌️

If your offer is for real, around which date do you want to leave Melbourne?

We also have to check, if it's possible for us to fly into Oz, no idea what's currently going on.

Re: Couple wants to join a crossing in the South Seas (Fiji, Cook Islands, ...)

Hi Tobias,

I just arrived in Melbourne from Tasmania. I have a couple of things to do but my plan is to leave Melbourne in 2-4 weeks. The offer is real as my wife will stay in Melbourne so I am single handed. Looking at what the Australian gov and states have done so far I give you guys about a 1% chance to get a visa and a flight and even if you would get that you would face a 2 week self funded quarantine in a hotel here.we have right now again some cases and our states are closing internal boarders already so as much as I would like some sailing company I doubt that it could be you.

Wish you a better 2021
Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,

true words! It's not gonna happen. It seems we have to wait another year. Let's try again then! Still, thanks so much for your offer.

Wish you all the best for your trip up the coast!
