Exploring Indonesia, Sumatra > Kalimantan > Sulawesi & onward east…

W Coast Sumatra > Kalimantan > Sulawesi & onward east…

Cruising couple open to new crew interested in joining us on our 40’ aluminium catamaran for a few weeks/months, depending on your time frame/right fit.

There will be dbl berth available on the boat as of late June (around the 20th), when we sadly say goodbye to our present crew couple; we will likely be around south Nias / Tola islands at this time, not far from Padang, W Sumatra.

Planning to head south & around the tip to Krakatoa, then north to Kalimantan>Sulawesi[Northern]>Ternate>& back to West Papua, over the space of this year.

Although the area we are presently in is a surfing mecca we do not surf and are principally diving/island hopping through, so probably not the right fit for surfing enthusiast. We are not a party boat ☺. Just a quiet space for people who want to relax, help out on board, explore the islands, read, dive/snorkel, wander along and see what we find. We are not on much of a schedule.

Of course wind is on our nose at present and we are pretty leisurely sailors so we plan to take our time and hop around on short passages mostly till we get around the southern tip & head for Kalimantan... we like to sail but also like to use the diesel breeze if we just want to get where we are going...

Would suit a couple best, but singles considered; looking for relaxed people who can take a watch, help out around the boat, keen to just see what the adventure brings, and able to amuse themselves on board; if you are a diver, we have compressor & tanks.

We are a couple in our mid 30s taking a long break from our job; we are sailing as long as the budget will allow & thus keen to share the adventure with like-minded, chilled-out, self-sufficient folks.

Get in touch if it sounds interesting to you...

Re: Exploring Indonesia, Sumatra > Kalimantan > Sulawesi & onward east…

Hey I may be seriously interested in your trip. I'm sailing in the Bahamas for the next 3-4 weeks and was planning on heading to Asia after.

Can you tell me more about your typical day to day?
Also, can you tell me more about what if any expenses will be expected?

=

Here is an on-going thread about my experience off of this forum:

Thanks!
