navigation software and chartplotter

It's been awhile since I've been offshore but will venture out again in the spring.
Any advice you can give me about navigation software for Windows that I can use with specific location charts that I can use to set waypoints and chart progress will be very helpful. I do have a binnacle mounted chart plotter but it's very small and I want to use a tablet.
Going from New England to Puerto Rico with stops in between.

Why don't you try OpenCPN? It runs on any computer, and they you have a decent screen size.
