Virginia Dare (hull # 192 of 219 built) is in very exceptional condition, (no
pets or smoking) meticulously cared for and maintained by the past owner, an
engineer, for the first 9 years and now by the
current owner. During the first 9 years she was sailed mostly on weekends in the northern
Chesapeake Bay and
on the hard for the
winter covered with a custom
canvas cover. She was very lightly used and in near perfect condition as evidenced by the
survey we commissioned dated 28 June 2011.
Christine and I purchased Virginia Dare on 7 July 2011 with the intention of full time cruising on the
east coast of the United States and the
Eastern Caribbean. She was not equipped for cruising as she was mainly sailed on weekends from marina to marina. We devoted 9 months equipping her with the necessary
gear; Winslow
Liferaft, 3.5 Kw
generator, 400w
wind generator, 3000 watt sine wave
inverter with 150 amp
charger, new Lifeline
AGM batteries, WxWorx
satellite weather receiver, complete new
plumbing in the
head with macerator
pump to empty the
holding tank overboard,
WiFi antenna with wireless LAN, clock and barometer, Personal Locating Device, all
sails and
rigging inspected with new Sunbrella covers, total and complete clean, polish and wax exterior, fresh
bottom paint, every detail was covered both cosmetically and mechanical.
Virginia Dare has very little wear and appears close to new condition above decks, below decks and mechanically.
We have completed our cruising plans. She is fully equipped and ready to
cruise, just bring your personal
gear and begin enjoying this wonderful Hallberg-Rassy yacht. Currently you will not find a finer HR39 anywhere in the world at any
price.
