Question Need to replace the anchor on my Jeanneau SO409

Hey all!

I need to replace the anchor on my 2011 Jeanneau SO409. I know we can argue for days and weeks and months about which is best, but I'd like to keep the same.

Can you help me identify it and where I can purchase one? I'm in New Jersey.

Thanks in advance!

Pretty sure it's a Delta, made by Lewmar.

Ditto on the delta, had one and found that the Excell, that looks remarkably similar was far better.

I think you can get those (Delta) new from West Marine.

This is why I need to replace it. Would I need a 35 or 44 lbs anchor?

Would the 44 lbs Delta galvanized from West Marine be okay? It’s round $440.

Bent/crushed/damaged. Is the one I have 35 or 44 lbs? Or, neither? [emoji848]

This is the one I was thinking about:

https://www.westmarine.com/lewmar-44...or-318081.html

Or, is 35 lbs enough, like this one:

Thoughts?

Re: Need to replace the anchor on my Jeanneau SO409

To be a bit blunt, it seems that that anchor was not suited to your usage (it failed), so in your place I'd be thinking of replacing it with a better one, not the same thing.

And if you don't know which weight it is, you could simply weigh it yourself.

There are many anchor designs that perform better than the Delta... and are arguably more rugged in construction.

Should be lots of second hand Delta's of all sizes around. Have a look at YouTube SV Panope.
