Navionics PC chart update fails

I have a Raymarine MFD with Navionics charts on SD cards. I have struggled doing chart updates on the PC or Mac via Navionics chart update app. The update starts but fails doing the sonar logs upload.



Discovered that removing the Raymarine folder from the card will fix the problem. Somehow the chart update program is confused by the gpx files in the Raymarine folder. After the update, replace the Raymarine folder on the SD card.

First I'd try the old Windoze solution of uninstalling and then reinstalling the program. I'm not sure which, and when, but I know NAVIONICS stopped accepting sonar logs from some systems a while back (not sure if that's an issue or not).

That is not the case with this issue. As noted, the update successfully completes if the totally unrelated a Raymarine folder (has archived settings, tracks and waypoints) is removed. What makes this issue frustrating is the actual chart update fails because the program stops when the sonar upload dies.

If others encounter this same problem, temporarily removing the Raymarine folder will fix it.
