Re: Vetus disel

Welcome to CF Mauri.
I think it would be better to state what your problem is with it & what sort of help you require.

Re: Vetus disel

Basically there is a crack on this block that has been repair with epoxy cold welding and the long strainer on it cant go of the part and that may be something to do with it
The situation is it that the carter part has been found with water and probably salt water ... I don't know how to explain more específico my engine knowledge is basic sorryyy

Re: Vetus disel

Sounds like the heat exchanger housing cracked, someone repaired it with JB weld or an equivalent, perhaps gluing the bundle in place at the same time, inadvertantly or not, and now salt water is mixing with fresh water.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find even a parts manual for the engine, so it's going to be hard to help without a clearer idea of what's going on.

Replacement exchanger cores seem to be available, if the problem is with it, or they can often be repaired by radiator shops, if you can get it out...
