Pitcairn

Hey Forum - here’s an unusual request. I am looking for a large scale chart of Pitcairn Island. Apparently the BA and NGA charts are no longer available to print-on-demand resellers. So I’m left asking fellow cruisers if anyone has a copy they’re willing to sell?

Come on down and let’s bargain! Come one come all...

Re: Pitcairn

I infer there is such a chart although we never had or needed one when we sailed there. There aren’t choices where to anchor.
If you have specific questions, maybe I can help.

Re: Pitcairn

There's a halfway decent image of BA Chart 991 - Panel A online. Don't know of anything with Panel B (the detail of Bounty Bay).

I may have a copy in the chart rack at home, but won't be back that way until this weekend. If you haven't located one by then PM me here and I'll dig through what's there.

Dsanduril and SV Illusion - I would like to PM each of you but I don't know how! Can one of you give me a quick tutorial. I had my 21 year old son look and he couldn't figure it out either (so I don't feel quite so dumb!). Many thanks in advance...

Hi just click on their names and a drop down menu will appear. Simply pick "send private message".
You have to have a certain number of posts in order to send a private message, hopefully your are enough.

Good luck

Seems good enough to approach and anchor.

Re: Pitcairn

Give them a call on the VHF when you get in range. They will give you anchoring instructions based on their weather forecast, then show you where to land your dinghy and pick you up. Bounty Bay is not usually recommended, and we had a pretty nice anchorage on the western harbor in tradewind conditions.

Re: Pitcairn

Found our paper chart, it is quite beat up (it has led a hard life) and has the same detail as the pictures upthread, with no inset of Bounty Bay. You’re quite welcome to it if it of interest, I can pop it in the mail (PM your address - yes, I got the last one).
