Rigid Foodsaver containers for tool storage

I recently ordered a 10 cup Foodsaver rigid container that can be vacuum sealed using an ordinary food saver. $20 with shipping from Amazon. Product Dimensions: 6-1/4” W x 12-1/2” L x 4-1/2” H (2.5 Quart)


This is not particularly large, but large enough to accept a number of hand tools and keep them moisture and rust free. Reusable and vacuum sealable, it is possibly a solution to the rust and moisture issue.


I plan to build a collection of vacuum sealable containers. Currently at home I use mason jars and a pressure cooker connected to a vacuum pump to greatly extend the life of various things, and to retard ripening and spoilage. I get several times more life from avocados, salad greens, etc.
