Cartagena Lightning Strike

Hello Cruisers,

Our vessel Belle has been hit by lightning and we have a huge material list to ship from US to Cartagena, Colombia.
Any recommendations on which Marine Supply Shop to use in the US? Customs issues?

Also, any recommendations on what else to wring out on board that may be working now, but may fail in the future?

Our new Raymarine electronics package, AIS, 2 MFDs, Lights, AC, transducers, TV, 2 alternators, brand new Fusion, wind and solar gen controllers are all gone and much more. It seems anything with a circuit board in it is toast.

Advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Re: Cartagena Lightning Strike

You might check with Marine Warehouse and see if they have any support in Colombia

If you’re the couple I met at Club De Pesca
looking for a 3 amp fuse I suggest you walk
down the dock and talk with sv Shenanigans
They have found some good people in Cartagena.
As for sourcing all the stuff you need
I suggest jumping on a plane to
St. Pete Florida and buying all the stuff you need in
person, lots and lots of really good shops
Then DHL or FedEx
Cheers
Neil
