Morgan chainplate construction?

Does anyone have any idea what the layup / construction might be for the knee supporting the chainplates on a 1979/1980 vintage Morgan sailboat? The one I'm looking at had some long term water penetration and the wood is completely rotten. Appears to be teak-faced marine plywood. But I can't tell if the knee is entirely wood or if there might be a fiberglass structural component under the rotted wood that I can't see. I'm limited to "non-destructive" inspection at this point as I don't own the boat.

Typically, a knee like this is glassed to the hull, but looking at the hull/knee joint, it appears to simply be "glued" in place. My understanding is that Morgan's are pretty well built so I suspect there may be more structure that I'm not seeing.

Anyone know or can lend an educated guess?
