They have to be, but a few restrictions, .
1. My output line is 1/4”, I believe that’s standard, so has to be 1/4” or adaptable to 1/4” I pump 3+ GPM through that 1/4” line and apparently that messes with the in-line I bought.
2. I want a large, easy to read display, doesn’t have to be huge but a tiny one isn’t good, y9u know a nice professional looking piece, not cheap looking plastic. I don’t mind spending some coin either so long as I get what I pay for.
If one had a high TDS Alarm, well that just extra candy

a64, what is the maker of the unit you have? I found this one which I think may be what you have.

The type of meter you want is commonly used to monitor TDS in HVAC Cooling Towers. The come standard with both alarm and relay outputs. The outputs typically trigger large solenoid valves to drain water (with float valves on the makeup water to keep constant volume in the basin) and diastolic pumps to precisely feed a chemical treatment to replace what's lost with the drain and fill.

I should add that you may well be able to find them used on eBay. Like this one!
