Water on vessel

Hi, all! Zig Zag back again.

We were wondering what any, or all, of you do with the water in the water tank when you have to leave the boat for a couple of months?

Do you treat it with bleach? Do you empty the tank?

Right now, we will be using our vessel intermittently, leaving it for a few weeks at a time. We don't want the water to go stagnant or develop any type of bacteria, or worse for a partially filled tank to have mold develop in it. We live in Florida and I have already removed more than enough mold from Zig Zag to last a lifetime!

Looking for really good advice.
Thanks.

Treat the tank with bleach according to per gallon recomendations. A year is a long time, a month or two is nothing. You will need to retreat with bleach occasionally as the chlorine will vaporize over time.

Have been drinking boat water for longer than there's been dirt with no problems. Think we are turning into a population of scaredies afraid of our own shadows. Think this is self defeating as it depletes our natural defenses to common bacteria.

Thanks for the prompt response. We just want to ensure that the stored water doesn't develop any bacteria when not being used.
