Re: Sun Loft 47

There's nowhere on board to make a meal, let alone eat it if its cold and/or raining. It's basically a set of floating bedrooms!

On deck I guess but restaurant seems to be the main option

Jeanneau Sun Loft 47, for charter. Without compromises - Barchemagazine.com

This article says the galley is topside. Looks like it is forward of the helm wheels. There is also the option of enclosing the cockpit for protection from bad weather.
13 people on a 47' seems crowded, but maybe not terrible if they are using the boat only as a hotel room.

I think I can sum it up.... UGLY.
Beside, will there be a market at the end of its useful charter life?

Re: Sun Loft 47

Well this "mono cat" as they call it seems to hit alot of the reasons people charter cats which is the fastest growing section of the charter market by multiples so I reckon it is going to do extremely well.

Might have big repercussions for the real cat charter market in time.

Gah. That doesn't look like a comfortable boat at all, unless you like laying down all the time. The interior is nothing but berths, heads or standing room. On my list of what not to buy or charter.

Be a good day sailer.

The galley area looks like a greenhouse.

Is it a new deck on a sun odyssey hull?

I reckon so. The hull looks very similar to the new SO hulls.

I reckon it's got the potential to be a game changer for charter fleets. As much revenue as a cat with half the running costs.

Only issue is who would buy it at the end of the charter service?

Re: Sun Loft 47

They tried it before. Google "Atoll" for that. It was of very limited success & pretty ugly back then.
Looks better now, but I do not see this being a big success this time around either.
Possibly interesting to some budget charter companies.

Re: Sun Loft 47

Wow...

That's a new level of amazingly bad... They won't be able to GIVE those away after their charter life is done. I wonder long will it be before we have someone posting here asking if a Sun Loft would make a good "bluewater" boat?

I think one quote from the press release tell me all I need to know:

The Jeanneau Marketing team developed the Sun Loft 47

Re: Sun Loft 47

Why so many bathrooms? Do total strangers charter the same boat together?
Why not any common areas?

If they eliminated half the bathrooms in favor of storage and turned the almost useless crew accommodations forward into a common area with a kitchen... it might be something I’d like.
