Beneteau Frist 42 Toe Rail

I have a Beneteau First 42. It sustained some cosmetic damage in a storm while at the boat yard waiting to be hauled for the winter. An approximately 10 foot section of the extruded aluminum, "T" section toe rail was bent. Unfortunately this extrusion is no longer available from Beneteau. I'm looking for anyone who knows of a source for this, or has a 10 foot +/- section that can be spliced in (of a full length section), or knows of a salvage/damaged First 42 from which I could extract the toe rail. Here's a picture of a similar toe rail. The boat is in the Narragansett Bay/Portsmouth, RI area. Thanks in advance. Charles.

Re: Beneteau Frist 42 Toe Rail

It can be very challenging finding replacement toe rails. My neighbor hit me a few months back while he was pulling out of the slip. It damaged a couple feet of the rail and we ended up having to replace the rail all the way around the boat.

I went to great lengths to avoid it by having the yard try to repair and re anodize the rail but it looked like crap. Fortunately the Beneteau dealer was able to order replacement rail direct from Beneteau but the holes weren't the same distance apart, hence the need to replace all of it.

The cost to replace all of the rails is around 15k.

The First 42 toe rail is certainly an adventure. Can you help me? Either:
1. Provide the contact information for the Beneteau source you used.and/or
2. Since you removed all the old toe rail I would like to purchase some of what you removed (an undamaged section) say 20 feet).
Thank you!

Shoot me an IM with your location. Shipping is likely the biggest hurdle. Also when they remove the rail it bends a bit where they place the shims to pry the rail from the deck. They can certainly be straightened though.

In mine I replaced it all around , make sure the new toe rail has the T to cover the deck joint.
