Fully Outfitted Bluewater Cruising Sailboat - $7500

1977 William Atkins Sloop Inga
28' 3" on deck 31' LOA

Proven Bluewater cruiser in the style of Lin and Larry Pardey. Go Small. Go Simple. Go Now!

San Francisco to New England via Tierra del Fuego over five years with previous owners and up and down the east coast and Bahamas the last two. All single and double handed. Boat is set up and ready to go this winter.

Engineless for the last 9 years, but still has the mounts if you wanted to install an inboard. Prop aperture has been glassed over and thru hulls sealed. Boomkin would make it possible for an outboard too if that were desired.

Ferrocement hull is solid and rust-free. Professionally built in Washington state, not a backyard build. Perfectly fair hull often mistaken for fiberglass and heavy built for offshore sailing. Standing room below up to 6'2" -amazing for a boat this length!

Layout is double berth forward(not quite a V berth), moving aft, in the main cabin: stove to stbd and sink/counter to port. Berths on both port and starboard with a folding table between. and a nav table with chart storage overhanging the starboard bunk. Head is behind ladder with plenty of storage behind.

Atkin & Co. - Inga

Boat is located at Glades Boat storage along the Caloosahatchee River/ Okeechobee Waterway. Perfectly located to start your Carribean cruising adventure or to be trailered to your cruising ground of choice. As seen in photo, mast is down for storage/transport.

New standing rigging 2012. Dyneema Dux with Colligo Marine deadeyes on external chainplates.

Nicely appointed boat. I have a Flicka and always like to see what others with a small boat are doing. How much does your boat weigh? Is the beam 8' 6" or less?

I'm going to go down to College Marine this week to have them rig my boat. My only concern is the SK75 seems like it has a lot more creep than the newer types SK99 and CM20. Did you have to re-tension very often? Any observations using deadeyes would be a great help too.

Thanks for you time and any information you may be able to pass along.

Is your boat still for sale?
Seems like a nice unit for a 1st sailboat

Re: Fully Outfitted Bluewater Cruising Sailboat - $7500

Just an update on Inga...

This is an old ad for her from at least two owners ago.

I currently own and for the last 10 months lived aboard Inga and have no plans on selling her.

I am in the process of refitting her, because when I received her she was stripped of basically anything on that above list of value. However as luck would have it, I did get Inga for an amazing deal because “nobody wants a cement boat” but to me she basically checked all my boxes. She will remain engineless. As a bonus she was in Key West, FL and let me tell you, there are worse places to ride out a pandemic, work for $, and fix up an old sailboat

Cheers.
