Saloon table / bunk bed

I have a Hunter 38 2007 model built in UK (Legend) but branded Hunter as it was an Import to South Africa. When i drop the saloon table for additional sleeping space the table catches on the fore and aft seats stopping the table to drop completely and consequently when adding the foam mattress the ends stick up because of the table catching on the seats, has anyone had this problem before or am i doing something wrong? I am sure this is the first post of this nature on Cruisers Forum

Can you spin the table 90° and then drop it?

i don't think so as it has two supporting legs, the layout is exactly as you show in your photo, with the extension piece, to swinging 90 degrees would bring the extension piece either against the fore or aft seats which would exacerbate the problem

the design was definitely made to drop down as the two legs have release clamps and when unscrewed the table drops down but then catches on the seats fore and aft. Hunter also made a special mattress insert which also does not fit as the table does not drop past the seats

Lift the table out of the 2 support legs, rotate 180 degrees, if possible.

if it's really had much a problem go to https://www.thefoamfactory.com/ and order some high density 1" thich sections that will fit around the table to make up the height. Plus you can leave them in under the regular cushions and it will make them more comfortable
