Hallberg Rassy 38 in Tahiti, French Polynesia

Well-groomed and well equipped: our Hallberg Rassy 38 sailboat from 1978 is for sale in Tahiti, French Polynesia. We are staying here, and she can be seen and test-sailed the next couple of months. The French Polynesian waters is lovely cruising ground, or a great starting point for the rest of the Pacific or Asia.

Price: 65 000 euros

Semi-long keeled and with a centre cockpit, it is the perfect choice for water sailing">blue water sailing. We have sailed her from Norway to Tahiti during the last two years

The boat is well equipped for long-term cruising with numerous amenities:
- Windpilot Pacific Plus Wind Rudder
- Sidepower SE60 bowthruster
- Four self-tailing winches in cockpit (two Lewmar 44, two Anderson 46)
- 25 kg Rocna anchor with 50m 10mm chain
- Solid masthead rigging
- Windlass
- 600 liter water tank
- Very well planned interior with a lot of storage space
- 60hp inboard Yanmar diesel engine
- Two diesel tanks, in total 340 litres
- Cetrek autopilot
- Spacious main cabin with an extra wide double bed
- Danfoss fridge and freezer from 2018
- Swimming platform with ladder

Length overall: 38ft*
Beam: 3,52m*
Draft: 1,75m*
Displacement: 10 tons

Engine:
- Yanmar 60hk 4JH2-TE from 1996
- Impeller, oil- and diesel filters changed as according to engine instructions
- Two diesel tanks: Main tank 220 l, extra 120 l. Suction pipe from the lowest point of the tank through which sludge and condensation water can be drained. This keeps the fuel clean, and we have never had problems with dirty fuel.
- Racor Parker R20 diesel filter with water separator

Construction:
- Hull built according to Lloyd’s specifications for «Cerificate of Hull Construction»
- GRP sandwich construction
- Handrails, companionway, hatchguides and seats ale all made in compact natural teak,
while the rest of the interior is well-kept mahogany
- Semi-long keel with skeg protecting rudder
- In total 7 beds
- Outer teakdeck removed in 2017 and replaced with epoxy and anti-skid paint
- Steering chain and wire replaced in 2018

Safety:
- MMSI registered Accusato EPIRP
- Lazilas ISO offshore emergency raft for 4 persons, new 2017
- AIS sender and transmitter, new 2017
- Iridium GO Satelite Phone for internet, weather and phoning all over the globe
- Three Spinlock safety vests N150
- Deck safety lines along the boat, new 2017
- Two Baltic clip-on safety lines for attaching to deck safety line, one long and one short in order to always be attached
- Extra anchor
- Plastimo safety buoy
- Mast chair
- Whale gusher bilge pump in cockpit and electrical pump in bilge

Sails and rigging:
- Fully battened dacron main sail with three reefs, wich enables sailing in all kinds of wind
- Lazy-bag and lazy-jacks
- Furlex 300S
- Two furling genoas. One in dacron with a new UV cover from 2017
- Furling jib
- Furling light-wind sail/gennaker
- Hard wind clip-on jib (hardly used)
- Removable inner forestay
- 14,05 m Seldén mast
- All stays changed in 2017

Electricity:
- Lithium batteries 300ah, new 2017 (equals approx 600 gel/AGM)
- Starting battery, new 2018
- 320 watts solar panels, instralled 2017 (no need to run the engine at anchor)
- Victron solar power regulator with Bluetooth access, 2018
- Nasa BM1 battery monitor
- LED-lights throughout the boat

Comfort:
- Cockpit wind screen in glass, where the front window can be opened in order to let in a cool breeze
- Gebo skylights/hatches with no leaks and good visibility
- Well-equipped galley with gas-oven and fridge
- Refurbished head with downlights and Jabsco toilet with stainless steel holding tank
- Outside shower with hot and cold water
- Extra water and diesel storage cans (2x20l)
- Tools
- Ropes
- Galley equipment
- Boat maintenance and sailing books

Papers and instructions of the boat equipment well organized in folders.
Hallberg Rassy is widely known for their high quality, Swedish made sailboats. This one was designed by Olle Enderlein, and was built in as number 10 of in all 202 boats.

Other equipment that could follow upon agreement:
- Sevylor inflatable tandem kayak with paddles
- Snorkeling equipment (fins, weights, neoprene suits)

She is a really solid boat and has been impressive through all kinds of heavy wather all the way here.

What a stunning and very well equipped boat. Exactly what I am looking for, though sadly in the wrong part of the world!
