New Mattress? -- St. Martin

Looking for recommendations for having a new mattress made. Current "master" cabin has an old, gross, and thin charter mattress. Hoping to be in French St. Martin in February and was wondering if you have a recommendation for a shop that could do this type of work. Also, what materials would you recommend for the foam portion?

I have an all-latex mattress, and I love it.

Do you do anything to keep things cool? Some sort of slats or springs underneath, or is it naturally cool?

Re: New Mattress? -- St. Martin

Hi! If your existing mattress has a cover on it, it's very inexpensive to just order a piece of foam you can cut to fit it. I ordered a piece on Amazon for <$100, cut it with a bread knife to size, and put it in the (washed) zippered cover. Good as new!

There are lots of foam products available with and without covers, intended for trucker mattresses on big rigs. 4" thick firm polyurethane foam was my choice, a single layer is easy to custom cut. We've been sleeping on it for a year with no complaints. Helps to have an air dryer underneath so the wooden boards don't get mildewy. Good luck!
