freedom 40 boat opinions wanted for cruising liveaboard

Interested in a 1981 freedom 40 catboat,i am wondering if you good folks have experience with these boats, build quality, sailing performance, resale value, liveaboard comfort, I had always heard these boats had a lot of room for a 40 footer but beam is 12 foot which is not a lot for a 40 by todays standards, I understand they are balsa cored on hull, that worries vs solid layup, this is a centerboard model any info appreciated
