With
legal and Croatian support, I have translated the Croatian maritime law for boats and yachts. Some surprises have appeared in it.
It is not enough to have a driving licence for the sailing area (navigation area), but you need a certificate/driving licence for the
navigation area for which the ship is registered! This can lead to problems with
charter ships.
Another problem can be dinghies. Regardless of the CE approval, boats up to 2.5 meters may be used by max. 2 persons. Such a
dinghy would therefore have to sail 7 times to bring the crew of 8 people of a
catamaran to the Konoba and back again.
Positive is the change from the previous GT (gross tonnage) - which was very difficult to determine - to ship length in meters. This means that the catamarans are also allowed to be operated over 45 feet with "normal" driving licences.
