With the Sahara sand storms reaching across the Atlantic..possibly new hurricane predictions maybe less..

When we were in Trinidad many years ago our boat would get red dust all over it sometimes. Amazing how far that stuff will reach from Africa!

Re: Sahara sand storms..possible less future Hurricanes?

Dust can choke a developing storm.

I just kicked off of a Weather forum for mentioning this.

Also it looks like a possible La Nina is developing which also skews the storm patterns.

Hurricanes follow a 22 year cycle that follows the sunspot cycle.

2005 was the last peak so we are coming up on another peak.

The next 7 years are going to be noisy, then a gradual decline, just like after 2005 until now.

I believe what little soil the Bahamas has, is attributed to Sahara dust, and it may be that the Bahamas as an island group wouldn’t exist except for Saharan dust.
