We don't have solenoids for locking in place. We have found out it is supposed to be a Vane pump instead of a hydraulic pump and there may be a vacuum from loosing a little bit of oil. We think there...

Re: Motorbikes on Boats

Very much like that, but ours were blue. My husband is 6' and he had no problems with ours. The great thing about the Dahon's are that you can get the Tipke Mfg Fold-it cart and they also make the...

Re: Motorbikes on Boats

We had Dahon Mariner folding bikes but got the Aprilia for further trips. We went back and forth to radiation treatment everyday for 6-1/2 weeks on it. We were in salt water the whole time we owned...

Re: Rough Idle on Caterpillar 3208 Suggestions?

marlinmike, obviously finances are a concern. We are being advised that the Capn can remove them to send for rebuild. Paying someone several hundred dollars travel time and gas to get to us is a hard...

Re: Rough Idle on Caterpillar 3208 Suggestions?

Lloyd, a retired diesel mechanic from another state gave us some of his time and we have determined the pumps are more than likely(more at this point) lacquered up and need rebuild. We know that we...

Re: Rough Idle on Caterpillar 3208 Suggestions?

Easier said than done. Today we have determined, by virtue of port motor not starting, taking the fuel pressure pumps off and having the rebuild. No fuel coming out of one line thru the fuel pump....

Re: Rough Idle on Caterpillar 3208 Suggestions?

Re: Rough Idle on Caterpillar 3208 Suggestions?

SailMonkey as far as we can tell, all fuel hoses except for the return lines are either copper or steel. Not sure where any packing would be either on the fuel valves. We will be hooking up a pony...

Re: Rough Idle on Caterpillar 3208 Suggestions?

This is the Admiral here...So DeepFrez you don't think we have to crack the nuts on the injectors? We thought that was also needed to ck for bad injector. Now I am assuming the pony tank is to bypass...

Re: Rough Idle on Caterpillar 3208 Suggestions?

One other thought...it has been puzzling to both the Admiral and myself thru all this, is we have a 12.5 Westerbeke genset that runs from the same fuel supply. If the fuel is bad, or there is air in...
