Re: Shatterproof Dishes?

Hmm - having a few pet bowls in stainless is actually a pretty good idea. My wife agrees! :thumb:

A remembered observation - my large cats have never had a spill with their deep dish bowls even...

Re: How does everyone handle trash onboard?

Ok - instead of a case of water bottles every week, we'll be using a gallon jug that we'll just refill. Also looking at compostable trash bags instead of plastic. Its a start and I thank you all for...

Re: Tankless water heaters

We love it! It replaced the leaky troublesome 6 gallon water heater that came originally with our 5th wheel. While we were in there we replaced all the water lines with Pex. Winterizing is a snap.

I really appreciate all the good advice and tips everyone has given. We'll start rinsing out the tins before they hit the trash can.

We have 2 very large Siberian cats that stay on the boat and also travel with us. We use the doggy bags when we clean the boxes - thats works great. Didnt think to use them for food wrappers/scraps...

Re: Tankless water heaters

Wow! What a discussion! I'll put my 2 cents in by saying we had a PrecisionTemp ShowerMate M-550 EC (marine grade) installed in our 5th wheel trailer 2 years ago and its the best thing we could have...

Re: How does everyone handle trash onboard?

We have a big dumpster near by that we put the trash in for now, but we'll be getting another new old boat at the first of the year and plan to really start cruising - so the question of trash is a...

Re: Question for Fiddle players

My wife plays the cello, but keeps it in the case when she's not playing. As for humidity, we have a diesel Refleks heater that keeps the humidity down and the temps around 70 or so all the time when...

How does everyone handle trash onboard?

We have been liveaboards for 6 months now and the question of garbage control is coming up. Since we're cooking and staying aboard more now that its colder, we find the trash is getting whiffy pretty...

Yes, I consider it a great success! NOT the dinghies or helicopters around your boat, but the fry pan cooking part.

Re: Frypan “baking” on a Refleks Diesel heater

Yep! The old recipes are in a box and we're going thru them, but many of them need some translation. I told Liz that anything with the word "chleb" will go in the bread pile. We need to get a diary...

Re: Is anyone familiar with Airlux ovens?

Ok - looking at common complaints about this oven, it seems it could have a bad top seal and heat can escape making the knobs hot.

Sorry - thats all I can find.
