Re: Forum seized by Federal Authorities???

Its a blatant April Fools joke.

If you have been following the other threads about adds etc, I think you will find it will be the other way around.

Re: Ads reach a record high - MERGED

Threads merged. The less threads on this the better hey? :p

Also all my adds came back and I had to fiddle with the settings again. Not something I want to do often.

Re: Adds reach a record high?

That is irrelevant. As long as someone makes money off the adds they are working for the person getting paid. (not sure if they are getting paid for them just being there or if they need to be...

Re: Adds reach a record high?

I actually tried cutting and pasting the things I have blocked from the list to show everyone, but it does not seem to allow cut and paste.

Re: Adds reach a record high?

I think I have it sorted. You have to be very careful what to block. If you block the wrong thing the add will come back, or the whole forum will not work! So it takes a bit of getting used to. ...

Re: Adds reach a record high?

I am not sure what the "create quick filter" is. But I have been using the "block element" feature to try and remove adds. When I do this the add is gone and it appears in the filter list but the...

Re: Catamaran Buying option 50"

I'm not a dealer Mike. Looks like a Lagoon etc might not be the best choice for you since you are getting into racing and becoming a serious sailor. Sounds like the outremer will be a better boat...

Re: Adds reach a record high?

I have installed ABP in chrome and still get the adds.

I already have moved on to another forum but I still use this one too. The adds are just getting too much now.

Re: Catamaran Buying option 50"

Here is a rough stereotype of the potential buyers which will probably offend someone as stereotypes are not always accurate. Let the flaming begin.

The outremer is aimed at the keen sailor...

Re: Adds reach a record high?

Well maybe the choice to get greedy will backfire. I have already started posting on another sailing forum and it seems I am not alone.

I'm sure the standard response will be to become a...

Adds reach a record high?

Has something changed with the policy on adds? This forum now has more adds than any other forum I have even used. Im thinking of deleting my account.

Re: Catamaran Buying option 50"

I think anyone considering both a lagoon 50 and Outremer 50 needs to pay more attention to their priorities.

Re: Advice please about open deck cat designs

I couldn't imagine a wharram would be the best design when the average wind speed is 5-7K as the OP says.

I would be going for something very light with a large sail area. KHD would be great.

Re: MPPT Charge Controller for LifePO4 Batteries

Socaldmax, your friend has the right IDEA imo and he shares the same philosophy I do. I will eventually buy one reasonably priced MPPT controller for each panel. Rather than one extremely expensive...

Re: MPPT Charge Controller for LifePO4 Batteries

Thanks. Looks like reasonable adjustability. No temp comp for LA though? Also it does not really explain what triggers the changes from - bulk - absorb - float.

However it has everything...

Re: MPPT Charge Controller for LifePO4 Batteries

Looks decent! So you can adjust max voltages, absorption times, disable temp comp etc? Might be suitable for a lithium bank.

Re: How to revive my lead/acid batterie bank

I tried to target a single dead cell on a battery once by jamming screwdrivers into the adjacent plates and hooking a high power charger to that cell only. I should have turned it off before I put...

Re: Saildrives?

Any solution that keeps water out is good, one that invites even more water in is bad.

Obviously the best thing is to get new shafts or sleeve them. Haul outs are very expensive and if you are...
