Re: WTB:Used Alpha marinr autopilor

I'm in the same boat can't tell if it's my compass or the control board causing it to go insane. Sigh. Trying to figure out if I can tie in a more modern AP line the Garmin reactor 40 with the old...

alphamarine 3000 with hydraulic ram upgrade to what?

ok, i'm starting to admit defeat cause well, it's an old system and I don't think trying to throw money at it is worth it.
I can't tell if it's the "computer" part, the compass, or rudder sensor...

Re: Dinghy Discussion (Help me learn what i'm missing please)

Was planning to get one partly cause they are super quick to reply and very helpful with questions. Then got a West Marine one instead cause it was at the marina. And I didn't have to figure out...

Re: Dinghy Dreams Followers

I think the fact that this went this far out into insane land shows why the owner was concerned. We have no financial ties or concerns and people are this worked up?

Re: ICW info

They requested a pilot in Jacksonville.
I have no idea where they actually wanted to go. They were quite a bit outside of the channel markers and yelling on the radio about the sailboat and all...

Re: ICW info

Tons of them all over. Are you going ICW the whole way? or kicking out to ocean for portions? Watch sonar, don't necessarily trust charts and a lot of the "anchorage" advices in Active Captain...

Re: Carrier overturns in Brunswick River, Ga.

The funny thing we docked right behind this then moored off to the side in Fernandina Beach, and I spent the whole time trying to figure out what the hell that crane/saw thing was for. It was docked...

Re: Dinghy Dreams Followers

It does. I've seen marinas that explicitly state no political flags. Campgrounds etc. Thousand trails is a large campground that blocks all political. People are complaining because BLM and...

Garmin fake ethernet?

Does anyone know if there is a way to bypass the "trigger" to turn on devices like radar/transducers on a garmin marine network without using their overpriced GMS10? Trying to use a tablet for...

Re: Dinghy Dreams Followers

Oddly, yes. I would have. I still would wager that an argument started and things were said by both sides leading to the escalation and this end result.
If an owner asks you to remove political...

Re: Dinghy Dreams Followers

Interesting.
That said, you can "view" these sayings as "not real political" or however, but if you look at the BLM movement founders, they have turned it VERY VERY political. Most of those sayings...

Boats that had sat and mmsi expired. Estate sales where previous owner can't transfer mmsi. Dealer made a bloody typo in the handheld and you didn't notice until you were two states away and are...

In the US we have stupid rules about not being able to reprogram, but... quick google and you can usually reprogram if you look online for how.
I DEFINITELY agree to make sure you're broadcasting...

Re: Really had to go..

Not sailing, and not quite as fun as yours, BUT years ago we were kayaking past a naval nuclear facility. Completely fine, everyone does it. It's posted along the shore, but the fence is way up the...

Re: Retirement in Florida

For the price point, Oriental, NC not as cheap, but way more sailing, or further up near Washington, NC is hard to beat

Re: New boat, new electronics. Now or later?

True. Of course since I found ais on here, not powered though, maybe I'll find a working wind gauge if I keep looking. [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]

Down on the boat finally, messing around, fixed a few things found a few new things to fix this week... (Raw water pump for toilet leaked, macerator pump didn't work, anchor rinse pump didn't work,...

Re: New boat, new electronics. Now or later?

Mostly outside, cause I don't want to motor the entire trip. What's the point if a sailboat if you're just gonna motor. [emoji16][emoji16]

Re: New boat, new electronics. Now or later?

The autopilot is older, but works. Depth works, but doesn't link with anything else. Depth is on the list once she's back in NC, or whenever we pull her out of the water again.
Autopilot is on...

Re: New boat, new electronics. Now or later?

The other items are going to get done. The depth gauge works but might get replaced since it's old so I can sync it with the other displays.
And yes, I definitely have seen boats with new...

Re: Is inboardengineprice a scam site?

I asked the US beta folks. I found another thread on here from someone at beta saying it was below their distributor pricing. So I'll see what their reply is today maybe.
