This makes complete sense, for myself I went with the fewer parts and more power per weight of a 2 stroke, simplicity in maintenance and an engine that is therefore easy to fix without special tools....

These particular pattern of multimeter are quite common at the very bottom of the multimeter price scale, At the diode check it doesnt read OL for out of range it just gives you a value of 1

both, all I know is it came off a Westerbeke 42B4 and its 50AH
its factory red, but there is no script or stampings on it at all
it has a built in regulator and seems in the pattern of Prestolite...

Connection issues aside, I think there are 3 main faults

Diodes, which will blow if you attempt to hot swap batteries while the engine is running

Regulators, voltage out of range

My all time favorite was in Saving Private Ryan, the shooting of the driver of the Tiger tank (actually a remodeled Russian T34) through the drivers vision port. Tigers have 2" of glass in that space

It is controlled by the the linkage
