The horse's jaw dropped and brain froze at some point ... just saying, not blaming the horse. The video is pretty much showing what was happening and might be more objective than captain's impression...

The impression the boat behavior made on me is that the sailor was trying to go up wind (from 5 to 15 sec in the video, probably started earlier) but the boat just did not want to budge with that...

FWIW, here two samples from 29' express cruiser, 8500 lbs loaded, with VP 8.1 L 375 HP engine ... MPH measured with GPS,...
