Re: Thoughts on the Beneteau 281

Congratulations! Pearson 28 is great I have a Pearson 303 and it's the whole scale better in my opinion. Easily single-handed and plenty of space. Good luck on your search.

Re: Ericson 38, C&C 35, Niagara 35, CS 36 - any showstoppers?

Good luck! I was looking at the same type of boats in the SF Bay Area. Went with a smaller, 303 ericson. Have never regretted that decison!

Re: DSC Distress Calls --- I can't take it anymore!

Re: Help - outboard powered pocket cruisers

Add Cutwater to the list. Ranger and Cutwater designs are excellent and provide a comfortable and useable cruiser that can haul butt. Also, pulled the pin on a Ranger 29.

Re: Tonga Volcano.. terrifying 4' tidal wave hits Nuku'Alofa!

I live in East Germany, er, California and this is no surprise at all. We are governed by the most inept, corrupt hypocrites in the state's history. They closed the beaches on the west side of the...

Re: Pacific Puddle Jump and the Pacific Posse

Retired Naval Officer that did a hell of a lot of puddle jumping in the Pacific.
Don't mind the term at all.

Re: Cruising on a classic sailboat (Choy Lee Robb 35)

You are, and many, many do on this forum, approaching the "paralysis by analysis" phase. Unless you have unlimited funds or time there will be compromises and that is just life. Analyze it, don't...

Re: Looking at Island Packer 380 (2001)

What rotax said. I have reached out to folks on cars and planes to do an initial inspection and then made the decision. It works as long as your trust the dude. Good luck!

Right on! We are evolving into wusses who worship security/safety above all in the vain hope of living forever.

Re: International Health Insurance suggestions

Great advice! Two separate friends had to be flown back from Europe and the Ukraine and the insurance covered it. Both with heart issues.

Re: "Evicted": Marina Won't Renew Contract for Next Year to maximize Profit

What wingssail said. Really started back in the mid 90's when greed and power became the holy grail.

Re: We Bought a Boat!

Great! I almost purchased a 32 about 8 years ago. Cool boat and I enjoyed the full keel but departing and docking was exciting! Have fun.

Re: 40 year old sailboat with good survey, vs 20 year old sailboat with good survey?

I disagree somewhat. My 86 300e has 330,000 miles, is built like a tank, drives like it was new and I have all of the convenience features I need or want. I also get 20 MPG on the highway. My 85...

Charge for pictures? You are kidding, right? A little friendly advice, let a broker you trust sell your Ericson. Good luck.
