Re: Some bottom paint questions re tools and recent barnacles

Thank you John. Luckily for me I found an excellent slip option that's close to Lake Worth Inlet for dirt cheap. So if we keep the boat (which I sure hope we do), we have a spot for it as long as...

Some bottom paint questions re tools and recent barnacles

Hi everyone,

I've recently taken over as Captain duties since my Dad passed and I was surprised at the amount of bottom growth we had last weekend.

Timeline:

Jan 2020 - Dad's cancer...

Re: Take time off your boat and live for free in a golf and tennis community

Perhaps posting pictures of the home and community would help?

As an uninterested outsider, it really seems like you need to sweeten the pot. There is far greater risk to the boat owner here and...

Re: Coral Reef Status

Hard to decipher what you all are arguing about but my 2 cents are at least here in Florida and the upper Bahamas, the habitat loss we've witnessed in the last 20 years alone has been substantial. I...

Dry storage for FL summer/hurricane season - deep draft

Hello,

I'm starting to think that dry storage for hurricane season is the ticket for me. I won't lose my slip for the rest of the year, hardly used the boat in summer because it's so hot/we...

Re: Know any Deep Water Marinas or Docks in Palm Beach or Jupiter

We draw 7' and it's hard enough finding storage for that. As someone else said, you can't get under Blue Heron bridge so unless you want to go way N and back south everything else isn't an option.

Re: Can the sheave of this stanchion block be replaced or is it time to buy new?

Thanks for the input everyone.

Ended up buying a replacement from Schaefer. WM had nothing in stock and I realized later that this was originally a ball bearing sheave. Getting a new ball bearing...

Re: Jupiter to Marathon FL with a rookie crew any and all assistance welcome!

Thank you so much for the help. Much appreciated. Rather be safe than comfortable so I'll access the situation when we get there.

Re: Jupiter to Marathon FL with a rookie crew any and all assistance welcome!

Channel 5 bridge seems doable with our air draft but what do you think about 7' water draft? How about just W of the channel leading up to the bridge?

Re: Jupiter to Marathon FL with a rookie crew any and all assistance welcome!

Two weeks out and already stressed!

Entrance to Vaca seems really tight for my draft so I want to plan it with the lower high tide at around 1pm. Any good anchorages between Rodriguez and...

Re: Vaca Cut in Marathon Florida - doable with 7' draft?

Should have been more clear, we're heading to the canals in Key Colony Beach BEFORE the bridge. So entering Vaca cut from Hawks Channel and then banging a right before the bridge. Trying to figure...

Boat house marina / Coral Lagoon. That being said I was looking at slips at Bonefish as well so I'm interested in your thoughts for either of them.

Vaca Cut in Marathon Florida - doable with 7' draft?

Moving the boat to its new home for the next 6 months. Dock master and neighbors all think I am good to go but it would really suck to get down there and not be able to get in.

We don't plan on...

pirate Jupiter to Marathon FL with a rookie crew any and all assistance welcome!

Good morning,

Long story long, I lost my Dad earlier this year to cancer at the ripe age of 65. With him goes about 40 years of experience as he worked in the boating industry starting in his...
