Re: Question? Purchase a boat now and pay-off or save for 6 years and buy?

We were just faced with this same decision. We live in the other Portland, make about the same after tax (and paying student loan debt), young-ish(36/30) and also climbers!

We decided to buy a...

Re: Hairline crack?

The previous owner was a rather large man, to say the least and is probably the reason the pulpit and a good deal of the stations are bent. The all seem to be in high traffic areas, or places where...

Hairline crack?

Iíve been noticing these little cracks on the deck, maybe theyíve always been there and i never noticed or maybe theyíre new? I feel like I would have noticed them before. I bought the boat in June,...

Re: Teak Oils

I used Star Bright Teak Oil in the spring. Looked great for about a month, then started to fade and mold. Scrubbed it all with Teak cleaner and applied SEMCO teak sealer and it looks great.

Tried...

Re: Deck to thick for pedestal guard mounts?

I called Edson this morning, apparently the package was supposed to come with longer replacement studs. Mine did not, but I just grabbed some threaded rod that should do the trick.

Thanks for all...

Re: Hit my first rock

We just hit our first rock last week in a very tight channel. That noise will give me nightmares for years!

Re: Deck to thick for pedestal guard mounts?

Maybe I didnít torque on them enough to get them free. I was trying not to mar the threads, but at this point, theyíre not doing me any good so I might as well put some vice grips on em.

Re: Deck to thick for pedestal guard mounts?

A longer bolt sure would be an easy fix, but the bolts donít seem to come out of the hardware. If I could get them out, some threaded rod would solve the problem. Hereís a picture of the hardware...

Deck to thick for pedestal guard mounts?

We tried to install our new pedestal guard today, only to realize the bolts on the Edson mounting hardware are too short. The bolt barely makes it through the cockpit deck.

I canít seem to find...

Re: Dull table - how to improve looks

I have the same problem with the teak in my cabin. Everything Iíve tried that that gives it any shine nice fades away quickly. Iíve just resigned to the fact that Iíll be doing a lot of varnishing...

Fixing sloppy silicon job

Anyone have any ideas on how to get this silicone off the deck? The last owner clearly didnít care much for finish work. I just refinished on the teak handrails, which look good, but now this nasty...
